Founded by Lisa May, The Stories Society supports retailers to stay relevant and own their space, while building sustainable, manageable and successful businesses.

E-commerce is an ever-changing and powerful industry; with a background of working within both small founder start-ups and multi-channel billion-dollar organisations, Lisa has the know-how and skills to help you take control of your online presence and create a successful and strategic marketing strategy that puts your best foot forward.

Lisa’s story so far…

It all started 22 years ago, in a local department store and a growing love for understanding the customer. Since then she has experienced and learnt so much. From small founder start up’s with zero budget and minimal teams - to huge omni-channel brands where she had more staff than knew what to do with. She has worked in sales, buying, marketing, visual, wholesale, international, travel - and everything in between.

It was in 2020, like so many others she found herself redundant as a result of the pandemic. Realising high-street and luxury retail were about face their biggest challenges - she knew she had to make some serious changes. And where big retailers were struggling, independents were thriving.

So with no real plan she started sharing her experience and knowledge in the best way she could - to support those newly growing retailers.

And hasn’t looked back since!

    • I’ve never owned my own store - so I’m not sharing my previous path to success, the “one way” of doing things. I’m sharing the 22+ years of experience.

    • There is no magic formula - and if there was, it wouldn’t last long in the retail.

    • There are no overnight successes, so that’s not what we are planning for.

    • I won’t tell you what you want hear if I dont think it is going to help. If we are partnering togetwer then I want your brand to succeed just as much as you do - so I’ll tell you what I think will get us there.

I’m not chasing business growth - I cherish the brands we work with - rather than chasing new ones.


Creating the strategy is my favourite part of what we build - luckily it also has the most impact (!!!)
